Our Mission

Each year, thousands of central Pennsylvanians are faced with

the extraordinary emotional and financial difficulties associated

with a cancer diagnosis.

The Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund was established to

provide financial support for basic necessities to individuals

and families dealing with cancer.

We are a registered non-profit organization.

We are a public charity with 501 (c) (3) status.

In 2008, the BPCAF allocated over $65,000 to patients in need in

centre and surrounding counties.  A special thank you to the following

organizations for their assistance;

  • Coaches vs. Cancer
  • Sheetz, Inc.
  • Mike's Video
  • Town & Gown
  • Super Suppers
  • The Centre County Community Foundation
  • KB Offset Printing/theprinters.com
  • The Sign Factory
  • Avant Garden
  • Happy Valley Refreshments
  • Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity

Bob Perks was a native of State College, Pennsylvania. He attended State College High School and received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at The Pennsylvania State University.

Bob was an avid sports fan and a four-year member of the Penn State baseball team.

He was devoted to helping cancer patients long before facing his own challenges with the disease. He was a founding member of Coaches vs. Cancer locally and remained active with the organization until his own battle with cancer prevented him from doing so.

It was his goal to bring cancer support to our local community. In hopes of fulfilling his wishes, we have established the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund.
